Christopher Bryant

Disinhibition

Christopher Bryant is an award-winning playwright, author, and performer. He has studied at NIDA (Master of Fine Arts (Writing for Performance), 2014/15), and worked with a range of companies across the world.

His work has been shortlisted for the Griffin Award (Home Invasion, 2015), the Belvoir Phillip Parsons Fellowship (The Mutant Man, 2014), and the Arch and Bruce Brown Playwriting Competition (The Mutant Man, 2015). Recent work includes his “dark, expressionistic thriller” The Mutant Man (British Theatre Guide, 2017), and his “talented and thoughtful” play Intoxication (Myron My, 2016). Intoxication won the Queer Mentorship Award at the 2017 Melbourne Fringe, touring Australia in 2017 & 18.

He was the inaugural recipient of the Russell Beedles Performing Arts Fellowship at the State Library of Victoria, and he teaches playwriting with Monash University, where he’s completing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Jane Montgomery Griffiths.
