About / Bio
Abby Cameron has been involved in Omaha theatre since she was seven years old. This fall she played Roma in the Bluebarn Theatre’s Walk The Night: Death Marked Love, her most challenging role to date. Abby has been seen onstage at UNO, Chanticleer, Creighton University, Shelterbelt and Omaha Community Playhouse. She has been part of three GPTC PlayFest productions, at the vanishing point (Naomi Iizuka, 2012), Wood River (St. Fortune Productions, 2016) and South (Michael Garces, 2017), as well as MainStage and PlayLab readings. At Westside High school, Abby has taken part in 15 productions in the roles of actor, stage manager, assistant technical director, scenic designer and director. In 2016, she was part of a trio who earned a superior rating on their performance of Bright, Apple, Crush at both the Nebraska Thespian Festival and International Thespian Festival, which was selected one of 23 acts called back for the showcase. Abby currently serves as president of Westside's International Thespian Society Troupe 1602, and as a Nebraska State Thespian Officer. Next year she will attend UNO as a theatre and psychology major; she plans to combine these for use in classroom setting as a therapeutic devise to help special needs children.
