Matt Minnicino

Matt Minnicino is a playwright, actor, teacher, and theatre-maker based in Manhattan. He is the recipient of the 2017 Arts & Letters Prize, 2011 Clay E. Delauney Playwriting Prize; residencies with Exquisite Corpse, Letter or Marque, Sugarglass Theatre at Trinity College-Dublin, the box collective at Guildhall, Artilliers, and Barn Arts Collective (among others); and is an O’Neill Semifinalist and Jeffrey Melnick New Playwright Award Nominee. He has been a member of Pipeline Theatre’s 2017/18 PlayLab, Joust Theatre’s Writers’ Round Table, Everyday Inferno’s Writer/Director Lab; and written for The Flea’s Serials, The Tank’s Rule of 7×7, as well as Fringe Festivals in New York, Virginia, and Louisiana. He has professionally adapted Chekhov, Ibsen, Strindberg, Moliere, Homer, Euripides, Sophocles, Aeschylus, Gorky, and Tolstoy. His articles are published by The Dramatist, HowlRound, and A Gathering of the Tribes. His work has been developed in 12 states (and Ireland). MFA: Columbia.
