Sophie Weisskoff is a playwright based in Brooklyn. Red Tape Theatre’s production of her play Queen of Sock Pairing made “Recommended” lists from the Chicago Reader, New City Stage, and Picture this Post. Her play Enda and Oona received a workshop with The Hearth, was a 2020 O’Neill semi-finalist, and received an honorable mention for the 2020 Leah Ryan’s FEWW prize. She served as a dramaturg and contributed text to [50/50] Old School Animation, which was presented at the Public Theater’s INCOMING! Festival in 2018, at the Under the Radar Festival in 2019, and made Helen Shaw’s “Best Theater of 2019” top ten list. She has directed productions and readings at Dixon Place, FringeNYC, IRT Theater, the Tank, and at the Young Playwrights’ Festival at the O’Neill. She was a 2018 Edward F. Albee Fellow and is currently pursuing her MFA in Playwriting at Brooklyn College, where she is a recipient of the Rona Jaffe Foundation Graduate Fellowship.
