Becky Boesen
Becky Boesen is a 20+ years driving force behind initiatives that foster connection, unity, mutual appreciation, and belonging. Boesen wears a myriad of hats: Producer, director, cultural consultant, actor, asset mapper, advocate, teacher, and playwright. Boesen has worked with multiple communities and agencies to tackle issues like child hunger (Puddin’ and the Grumble), grief and death loss (What the Wind Taught Me), immigration and belonging (Snowcatcher), and brain drain and other issues facing progressive young Nebraskans (The Dream Switch). Most recently, she was commissioned by History Nebraska to write Not Too Far Distant, a play based on the letters of a Nebraskan World War II medic who helped liberate Dachau. Boesen has been featured as a “top 20 under 40” by the Lincoln Journal Star for her business leadership in the arts and is the recipient of multiple Mayor’s Arts Awards in Lincoln, Nebraska. She’s been honored nationally as a Chime Changemaker, a Melba Cope Associate for her advocacy alongside the LGBTQA+ community, and is a member of ASCAP and the Dramatists Guild of America.
