Joel Fishbane

A Place in the Country

Joel Fishbane is a novelist, playwright, screenwriter, actor, and man about town. His plays have been produced and honored at festivals and theatres across Canada, the United States, and overseas. In 2010, his play Short Story Long won the 2010 Toronto Fringe New Play Contest and went on to be developed at the Dayton Playhouse Futurefest (Ohio) and the NAAA Playreading Festival (U.K.). The feature film, for which Joel wrote the screenplay, is now in pre-production.  He also produces the podcast Shakespeare Unbard, which examines all of Shakespeare’s work one play at a time. His fiction and non-fiction has been widely published while his novel The Thunder of Giants is available from St. Martin’s Press. He is thrilled to be bringing A Place in the Country to GPTC.
