CATHERINE SHEEHY

Catherine Sheehy, Professor in the Practice, is Chair of Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale School of Drama and Resident Dramaturg at Yale Repertory Theatre, where her most recent credits include Happy Days, ElevadaThese Paper Bullets!In a Year with 13 Moons, and The Winter’s Tale. For six seasons, she was dramaturg for the Yale Institute for Music Theater. She is a founding member of New Neighborhood. She has worked at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Theater for a New Audience, the Berkshire Theatre Group, The Public Theater, Signature Theatre Company, and for HBO television. Her adaptation of Pride and Prejudice was produced at Asolo Repertory Theatre and Dallas Theater Center. She is a former associate editor of American Theatre Magazine and Theater Magazine. She received her doctorate from Yale School of Drama for If You Care to Blast for It: Excavating the Lost Comic Masterpieces of the American Canon.
