Eugenie Chan

Eugenie Chan is artistic director of Eugenie Chan Theater Projects, dedicated to bringing the untold stories of Chinese in the American West to life. Her award-winning plays have been produced across the country, including at Centenary Stage, Cutting Ball Theater, EXIT Theatre, Houston Grand Opera, Northwest Asian American Theatre, Perishable, the Public Theater, San Francisco Mime Troupe, and Thick Description, among others. Her screenplays have screened at the Asians on Film, Berlin, Big Apple, Cinestory, Dis-Orient, Mill Valley, San Diego Asian, and Toronto Independent Film Festivals. Her play, Madame Ho, was part of the 2013 GPTC, and won the 2017 Rella Lossy Playwriting Award. Eugenie teaches at the University of San Francisco’s Performing Arts & Social Justice Department, is playwright emerita at Cutting Ball Theater, a New Dramatist and Playwrights Foundation resident alumna, and is on the Advisory Board of Kearny Street Workshop. www.eugeniechantheater.org
