Christopher Maly

Christopher Maly is an educator and playwright dedicated to presenting social justice issues within dramatic contexts for students. In 2008, he was awarded the Trenholm Award for Civil and Human Rights by the National Education Association for his award-winning play This Unsafe Star: The Story of Emmett Till. In 2012, he created The Ghosts On The Wall, a dramatic enactment of letters sent to America from Berlin by Kurt and Regina Schoenwald before they perished in the Holocaust. In 2015, Maly was awarded the Lincoln Mayor’s Arts award and was selected by the Bezos Family Foundation as an educator of distinction. The Lincoln NAACP presented Maly with the Lenora Letcher Award for Service for his work with students and in 2017, Lincoln Public Schools named him the Leola Bullock Multicultural Teacher of the Year.
