A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction

By Miranda Rose Hall

A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction is about a woman named Naomi who is the dramaturg of Zero Omissions, a company she founded with her two best friends to “make sure nothing is left out of the conversation about climate.” When her two collaborators are called home for a family emergency, they charge Naomi to perform their show, Climate Beasties, all on her own. But Naomi finds herself incapable — for reasons spiritual and logistical — of performing

it. And so, rather than spout academic climate facts, Naomi attempts to have a sincere interaction with her audience about the spiritual and moral repercussions of climate crisis and extinction.
